Faire Frou Frou proprietors Alison and Gail have an incredible eye for beauty and glamour, and browsing their online boutique is like being in a sweetie shop! With brands like Fifi Chachnil, Damaris and S.P.A.N.K, Faire Frou Frou have an amazing collection of lingerie from around the world to suit everybody’s taste. Their latest addition is this stunning Suite Collection by Andres Sarda:

Barcelona born Andres Sarda started designing lingerie in the early 1960’s under the RISK label; in 1980 he launched the Andres Sarda label, and we have been blessed with some of the most incredible lingerie ever since. Sarda’s latest collection remains true to his philosophy of offering lingerie that is functional, comfortable to wear, and above all, elegant. This stunning Suite Halter Bra $280 has elegance oozing from it; with silk mesh panel ‘cups’, it looks like it should be among the glamorous gowns on the red carpet at the Oscars.

As if the bra wasn’t enough, there is an equally stunning Gathered Thong $179 to match; naturally it is no ordinary thong; with the same stunning silk mesh, it can be pulled down to create a ravishingly beautiful ’skirt’ depending on your mood. Decadently romantic, this is truly one of the most amazing designs we’ve seen for quite some time!

One of the most enjoyable parts of our job is discovering new designers; often we see designs before they hit the boutiques, and if we like them, we can’t wait to write about them! We love watching new talent grow in popularity, and finally achieving their goal of getting their designs ‘out there’, after so much hard work.

Tyra Therman Corset

Tyra Therman, a Finnish designer, now living in London, has a multitude of talents from pattern cutting and corset making to costume designing; among an array of other achievements including, exhibiting at the Alternative Fashion Week in 2006, and placements with the well-known corsetiere Velda Lauder, this is one hard-working, talented lady! She is now lending her talents to creating a new lingerie line, Miranda Lingerie, and her designs have made a serious impression on us.

Miranda Fall Winter 08 Collection

Tyra’s debut collection is all about clear Scandinavian designs, and delicate fabrics, creating lingerie that is both simplistic and elegant. What struck us about the Miranda Collection is its contemporary look, with a sporty come (dare we say it!) retro design. We’re impressed by Tyra’s efforts to kick off her new collection with underwire bra sizes up to an E cup, and up to a UK size 18; her philosophy behind this is to ensure a wider number of women have access to elegant silk lingerie. Needless to say, we can’t wait to see Tyra’s designs hit the boutiques!
